First things first, don't know if this is the right board, sorry if it's not, wasn't sure honestly.

I'm flying into NO for a bachelor party this weekend and the plan was to go to the OM game and do that whole experience. I'm the only real LSU fan in the group and I think everyone else has changed their mind and is happy just to stay in town and have fun. Which sucks for me but it is what it is.

I don't have a car (or a place to park) and my only LSU friends who live in NO are all at another bachelor party in Dallas so I can't just join them, which is just bad luck.

Anyway, is there any bus charter service that anyone can recommend or something for me and maybe one other person that we could latch on to? Or places to tailgate should we get there?

My wife and I are expecting our first in feb so this is for sure my last football trip for awhile. I'm a die hard LSU fan/alum and I live in VA and never get to see LSU play live. I really want to go to the game but I don't know how to make it work at the moment. TIA, really means a lot. GEAUX TIGERS!

Honestly, I would just stay with your boys at the bachelor party and insist that y'all watch it at a big bar (Manning's could get chippy). You won't be the guy leaving the party and your friends will become LSU fans in the right atmosphere .

However, if you are really feeling the itch, rent a car and just go, I don't know of a bus service, but would be surprised if there isn't one. Free parking can be had before noon.

Good luck bro

Rent a car!!!

It will cost about $40 but you can go and LEAVE when you want. What if it's raining or it is a blowout, etc

If you get to BR, you won't spend a nickel on drinks. Just tell the tailgaters your sob story...profit

@OceanMan

That might be what ultimately ends up happening. You make a lot of good points. If I do, any bars you strongly recommend for about 10 fun loving beer drinking dudes???? We're all big college football fans but our allegiances are all over the board. A third of them are the ECU offensive lineman from a decade ago.

That said, I'm still holding out a little hope to make it to BR. We'll see. Renting a car might be the way to go. Wouldn't have to pay for a cab to and from MSY that way.

Renting a car is definitely the best option. But when you return it it'll cost ya $33 bucks to get back to the quarter via taxi from the airport.

They do have an enterprise in the CBD though so give them a call sooner than later.

I'm having my own bachelor party in nola the following weekend.

start a thread on the food & drink board. Tons of nola regulars who can point you in the right direction.

Renting a car is really not too expensive, so always an option, although you need to factor in about $20/night parking downtownn.

As far as a bar to watch the game...like I said, Manning's has good spots to view and will have plenty of ole miss fans if you feel like being in a tense environment (would be closest to a game atmosphere).

I assume y'all are stating downtown?

Jax is surprisingly not that bad and they put up a projector, its usually not crowded for games.

Rusty nail isn't bad, however it is a bama bar. Walk ons on poydras, but that is more of a restaurant with obnoxious amounts of TV .

I take in games at cooter browns, if I am going out to watch them, which is very rare, its uptown.

Hope someone else can chime in and help me out.

Agree. We've had several threads on suggestions of bars at which to watch games. I searched quickly, but didn't find them to link here, but go over there and you'll get info and maybe an invite to a tailgate.
