I chastised Jacob on his idea of "going to a movie on the first date and then going TALK ABOUT THE MOVIE AFTER"

But what's the feels on going to mass at the Jesuit church across from the Roosevelt then hitting brunch? As a first date of course.

That just sounds awful unless she's deeply religious and ya'll met at a church function. Also, day date reeks of "friendzone"

Mass as a first date > a movie

I say it gives you a good idea of what you are in for. Whether or not that's what you want is up to you.

I wouldn't call the described event as a "date". I'd look at that more like a feeling out period where you just kinda get to know more about someone. Almost like a pre-date. Going to church with someone isn't a date, IMO.

FWIW, I get why people say that movie first dates are bad, but a movie first date isn't a bad idea at all, as long as it's not JUST the movie.

My first date with my husband was going to church.

Granted after church we went to a restaurant and hit up two bars after for a 9 hour first date....but it started at church

Well that thing is the first time I met her I wasn't even thinking of a date or nothing and we were talking about how recent I've been trying to be a little more spiritual. She told me how she hits mass and does drinks every "Sunday funday" that dumb shite females say. Then I realized she may dig me and asked me to come kick it with her on Sunday and going drink/eat after. Blew her off yesterday but after texting yesterday with her it seemed she was having a blast and has me intrigued for next week.

Movies are a NO for a first date. You can't really talk to her nor can you get good kino started.

First date should always be an activity followed by food/drinks somewhere. If they suck during the activity part, at least you can bail before eating
