Understandable. But in theory the movie would be the last part of the date...like dinner or drinks first to get to know each other for a little while, then enjoy a movie.

I'm not saying a movie is a great first date, just that it isn't so bad as long as the movie isn't the only thing you're doing for it.

Also, to go along with what you said, the movie would likely work if you already know the person and it's not a first date with some stranger basically.

Legit, laid back, and quick. Met the friar the other day and the dude is cool as shite. Always a lot of visitors from the tourist in town.

Wait a sec

so you're telling me that your initial convo/date set up doesn't go something like this?

You: "Hey, I like those shoes. You wanna frick?"

Her: "Sure!!!"

As a non-mass-goer, I think Sundays are the best day of the week for day drinking and gorging on food. You got football, the weather has been nice lately, etc. So I definitely think that part is a good idea.

So as a sinner, damned to hell-fire, your idea of a great Sunday is sinning.

I chastised Jacob on his idea of "going to a movie on the first date and then going TALK ABOUT THE MOVIE AFTER"

iirc, i didn't realize we were talking about first dates at that point

Very true. Also...another way a movie date may work is if it is a special event playing. EX: When they played Gone with The Wind for 2 days only or when they were showing other classic older movies in the theater(recently Ghostbusters and Breakfast at Tiffany's). Then it's not just going to see whatever is playing.

I wouldn't want to be drinking and then stop and go sober up in a theater for 3 hours. I wouldn't even be up to going drink more at that point...

It's a really bad idea. Women should always be pushing you to do annoying beta things like going to church or dumping your other girls to see her exclusively, or taking her for food instead of just drinks.

This is millions of years of evolution. Don't do her work for her - make her tame you.

Man, I hope this is sarcasm. Eating and drinking on a beautiful Sunday sounds like a nice first date to me.

I was going to say it is a great idea and you should go for it.

Then I read this...
quote:

Well that thing is the first time I met her I wasn't even thinking of a date or nothing and we were talking about how recent I've been trying to be a little more spiritual. She told me how she hits mass and does drinks every "Sunday funday" that dumb shite females say. Then I realized she may dig me and asked me to come kick it with her on Sunday and going drink/eat after. Blew her off yesterday but after texting yesterday with her it seemed she was having a blast and has me intrigued for next week.
I'd tell her to blow you off this weekend but I'm a bitch so, whatev.

Take her to brunch, get drunk as frick.

then take the streetcar up to the zoo.

Sneak booze into the zoo and walk around getting more drunk checking out stupid animals doing funny shite.

Then head downtown for the Saints game that night.

Continue getting drunk.

Then take her home to celebrate with some victory secks
