Its great to dominate and run over a team early in the game and keep them at bay for 3 and a half quarters but you have to make the plays when they count. You have to be able to pick up first downs late in the game when you have a lead and can put the other team away. You have to be able to STOP the other team from driving when the game is on the line!! The Saints have not been able to make the plays when they count THUS allowing some of us to remember the old days when the Saints were known for "Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory"!!!!

Which they have already done three times this year.
Atlanta, Cleveland, and Detroit. The Saints are the most coulda woulda shoulda team in the NFL.

Of all the years to start screwing up, the Saints do it when Seattle, Chicago, San Fran, Atlanta and Carolina are also not playing up to expectations.

If we finish these games out we're 5-1, and I can't imagine we get blown out by Dallas going into that game undefeated. Even still, if we lose that game, it would be to one of the better teams in the league at the moment.

So, if thy had a better record they would have played better in that game??? How exactly does the record determine how a team plays not the field?

This goes back to the New England NY Jets and Carolina games last season where we had several chances in each to earn ONE first down to put the game on ice, and failed to do so each time.

Something happened to this team exactly a year ago in New England where we blew a game with a 99% win expectancy and a potential 6-0 record and we've never really been the same since. It was the most stunning loss of the Payton/Brees era - it was Mora-like and shocking. That didn't happen to THESE Saints. Except it did. And now it fricking does. All the damn time.

Confidence. This is proven through playing "up" or "down" to your opponents. Not everything is so black and white as you see it dude.

Ever heard the expression: "You look good, you feel good. You feel good, you play good."

If you've ever competed in an organized sport you know this to be true. Ask any athlete.

I get this, but blowouts happen It's part of the game. If you were saying that if the team were more confident they would have beaten Detroit, I'd be right there with you. But sometimes, on any given week, the team on the other side of the field is just that much better than you. And, with the way both teams are playing (even had the Saints won those other games); I'd agree that the Cowboys are the better team at this point in the season.

Are you saying SF didn't have these thoughts last night? What about Denver in the SuperBowl?

Moot points.
They're not the New Orleans Saints. They don't have the same players/preparation/mindset as our players. Not saying that they're inferior to us, I'm just trying to point out they're completely different individuals/teams. I don't know what state of mind SF or Denver was in when they played their games. I'm also not saying there's no way the Saints wouldn't have been blown out. I'm just saying you'd like to think they would have played a little better as a team with two road wins already under their belt. Especially because the general consensus of the Saints is that they can't win on the road.

It's hard to explain. You just need to have had the feeling to understand it.
