"Digi Ticket" Traffic Citation

A friend of mine recently received one of these "digi tickets" and asked if I knew anything about them, which I do not.
According to her, the officer told her it will not affect insurance or go on your record if paid. I'm questioning the authenticity of this.
Was in West Feliciana Parish. Can anyone verify?

They recently started issuing some sort of "wasting finite resources" tickets here in AZ in lieu of speeding tickets. Same deal, doesn't go to insurance company.

Not really. Its just a way for them to justify getting around issuing speeding tickets.

What motivation do they have to get out of issuing speeding tickets?

Not sure. It could be to keep insurance rates lower. It's probably the best win-win you could hope for. No higher insurance rates or points on your license and they still get the revenue

I was on Poydras last night and saw a lot of flashing lights. I thought it was fireworks or something. It was red light, speed and "wrong turn" cameras.

I so don't understand how people get these tickets, unless on the highway in the middle of nowhere, but maybe I am just in a city where cops don't camp out because I ALWAYS go 20mph over the speed limit, drive like a maniac and lay on my horn when people are going less than 10 over and I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 10 years! I'm been pulled over 2-3 times but I guess cops are cool with a middle aged white dude that hasn't had a ticket in forever and has never been arrested.

She's pretty much that in female form. Only thing she could explain to me is that the speed dropped from 65 to 45 on US 61 without prior notice and that's where he was.
Like I said. I've never heard of a "digi ticket" and was trying to find out if it indeed doesn't affect insurance, record, etc.

I don't pay any camera based ticket. I would only pay a ticket that I signed and accepted in the presence of an officer.
For parking tickets/camera tickets in Orleans (an not wanting to get booted) the solution is super easy.
New plate every year. Get it done at Walmart.
It takes months for them to accumulate. By the time the first letters are coming in, your plate is already owned by the OMV again.
Non-moving citations are attached to registration not the owner, so... new plate, clean slate.

Let me guess, no court. Which means lower burden of proof.

There is a court date listed on the citation.
