Looking to pull the trigger on a mid-2000's Disco.

Do you have to run these things on premium petrol?

Always heard they were maintenance-heavy.

Land Rover's are known to be junk vehicles.

I sold my 2004 Disco 2.5 years ago and it only had like 60k miles on it. The cost of maintenance is unreal, especially for a vehicle that had a blue book value under $10k. Don't do it unless you are a mechanic and fix the issues yourself, but the vehicle is so specialized that no one wants to work on it or knows how except a land rover dealer. I should have gotten rid of it the instant it went out of warranty.

This. There's a reason you can buy a relatively low mileage one for like $3000.

Rover continues to sell vehicles to the clueless who value looks alone. Their interiors are beautiful, which is a good thing. At least the victims will have something nice to look at while waiting for roadside assistance.

The Disco is actually one of my favorite vehicles of all time, as far as looks go. GREAT looking vehicle. It's a shame the SUV market is becoming the crossover market. But yea, LRs are total POS's.
