Edit a .GIF in photoshop

I have a .GIF that I want to edit the text of. I've tried everything in photoshop to edit the text, but can't seem to figure it out. Anyone have some quick tutorials on how to edit text?

You mean you want to change text that's already in the GIF? If so, that's not going to happen. The words in the GIF aren't text, they are images of text. Depending on what they're covering up, what you are trying to do might be easy or nearly impossible. Can you post the GIF and let us have a look at it? Also, the Fark Board might be able to help you.

I'm trying to change the wording in the gif below. Where the PH is in PHAGGOT, i'm trying to change and make it F. I got this from the fark board but can't get the help. I was also looking to see how to do it myself so I can do it in the future if I need to. I like learning how to do these type things. In photoshop CS5 i can get to the timeline but would like to just edit the text and it seems a little outside my knowledge of how to use CS5.

I used GIMP for this, which opens each of the 107 frames as a separate layer. All I did was copy the layer with the F in "fricks", and replaced the P and h layers with it. I probably should have recentered the F word, but I didn't feel like it. Sorry.
I just realized the F word isn't allowed here, and I guess not even in image form, so I broke the image on purpose. If you really want it, copy the address of the broken image and go to it.

How did you match the font on the blue screen? Do you recall which font you used. I'm having a tough time with adding the letters so I can rearrange myself.

Since there was already a capital F on it, I just copied that layer. I didn't type anything and didn't try to match the font.
