I use Photoshop CS6 on my recent gen 15 inch Macbook Pro w/Retina. I don't work with video in Photoshop very often at all but every now and then I will record a wedding. I just finished working on a slideshow for a high school volleyball team and it is currently rendering. It is maybe a total of 4 minutes long with audio and it is looking like the rendering time is going to be 3-4 hours for a 4 minute slideshow. If this to be expected or am I doing something wrong? The last wedding video I put together was a little over 30 minutes long and I think it took over 10 hours to render. This just doesn't seem right. Any and all advice regarding the speeding up of the process would be greatly appreciated. TIA

I'm with you there. That's a long time. Can you do a screen shot of your export settings? What file format are you exporting to? Specs on the source files? Any other details might be helpful. I work mainly in PremeirePro and no too familiar with editing video in Photoshop, but the Adobe apps usually have many features in common.

It is maybe a 3 1/2 minute slideshow at most. It is comprised of three different base photos that I added other images on top of in a collage type format and then flattened. I also have three music tracks added. It is being exported to a mp4 at 720p. Im pretty sure it's set to 30 fps as well.

The last wedding video I did was just raw video footage with minimal exposure correction and a few photos tacked on to the beginning and end. I think that one might have been exported to a mov. file at 1080p and it took well over 10 hours. But now that I think back on it, I may have made the mistake of setting the wedding vid to 60fps.

I'm starting to wonder if this is the best my processor can do. I just don't understand how YouTubers can not get 1080p and 4k vids out and ready in a timely fashion. Over three hours for a 3 1/2 minute photo slideshow just seems ridiculous.

OK - here's my best guess (limited by my experience with video in PS). My hunch is you're processing layers you don't need, like all the layers except the top layer (Video Group 3). In your timeline, it appears that "Video Group 2" has no content. Yes? It looks like the only track with content is "Video Group 3". I would try getting rid of those excess layers (including the Black layer at the bottom; Layer 1) and give that a try. Again, my experience with Video in PS is limited. You might also try "flattening" the layers before exporting just for kicks.

No, all my video groups contained a different photo with designated key frame transformation actions.
