I seriously believe this to be true. People watch this zombie shite and think every illness is going to be The Plague that ends civilization as we know it, and that they, personally, are Rick.

No, it comes from people who watch too much news and then search the internet with no understanding of anything.

I BEG TO DIFFER

While the term "zombie" does exist within The Walking Dead universe, it is seldom used. In the comic book, when Rick's group discover the prison, both Rick and Tyreese discuss how it still sounds funny to use the word "zombie."

You can also blame websites like infowars and drudgereport. Reading people comments on the articles on that website is entertainment itself.

Too many retards have bred prolifically over the past umpteen years; I would argue these are the people feeding into the hysteria.

Well that would certainly explain the ratings for the Walking Dead

Shut up. When I'm in my under ground bunker eating potato chips I will be thinking of you.

I don't really see the connection between the two. People ingeneral get paranoid about events like this. Do you not remember "mad cow disease"?

Ill admit that a 24/7 news cycle & social media is fueling a bit of the paranoia.
