34-10 at Lexington. LSU held UK to less than 100 total yards.

1982 team was awesome when they showed up to play (see Mississippi State and Tulane that year)!

That was much more impressive before I learned UK was 0-10-1 in 1982.
We also demolished an Oregon State team that year that went on to finish the season 1-9-1. That was the season opener on Sept. 18. How the hell did we open the season that late?
1982 was a crazy season. Our only two regular season losses were in November to unranked Miss State and Tulane.

11 game season with 14 weeks of available football bc we didn't have an sec champ game then.

In 1980 and 1981, we opened the season on Sept 5 and Sept 6. In 1977 and 1978, we opened on Sept 17 and Sept 16. We opened as late as Sept 23 back in 1967.
I guess the later starts were to avoid the heat as much as possible.

Yep. Probably just took two of their bye weeks on the front end.

My dad played 64-67 and said they used to start playing in late Sept. They only played ten games back then.
