They literally tried to get this Dallas judge to say the CDC wasn't prepared 4 times. They even resorted to going "Are you saying the CDC didn't have their guidelines together and were ill prepared?"
Then he said no and they said "But you think the CDC hasn't done what it should?"
And he had to shoot that down too

I mean cmon

eh I'm 50/50 on FOX, I wouldn't say they are a trash network, but they do some pretty slanted stuff. I don't agree that they report ALL the news, certainly not unbiasedly.

Honestly CNN is my favorite, they are the LEAST biased, NBC and FOX are equally biased just on different sides.

Fox is certainly slanted right. Not even sure why that's debated. It isn't in the same league as that dumpster fire at msnbc though.

CNN has recently become an abortion and caricature of a legit cable news network.

I disagree, their New Day is my favorite morning national news show. They just interviewed Ann Romney and put her and her husband in a good light

I wasn't so much talking political slant, but more content of news stories.

The "Black in America" and search for MH370 stuff was just ridiculous

Well what I look for in news shows is people who give me the information without their opinions. CNN has some people who give their opinions, but a lot of their news shows, like New Day, do a good job of just giving me info and not trying to give me an opinion. Sure they sometimes choose some stories that are slanted, but they aren't as bad about it as other networks

Fox news has their commentary lineup - O'Reilly, Greta, M. Kelly and Hannity - no question, their commentators are hard right (with Greta being a fairly reasonable, right-of-center pundit).

However, Fox reports hard news (Shepard Smith, B. Baier, Brit Hume) as about as unslanted as you can get.

Well in fairness to both sides, it's a mixed situation. Isn't it?

First off there is a difference between the CDC and it's administration. The CDC is very good at what it does in terms of research and medicine. Questions regarding its performance almost always involve political admixture which likely originates outside of Atlanta. Unfettered West African travel is an example. Downplaying of risks to US healthcare workers is another

The CDC and its administration were hitting on all cylinders when the first ebola patients were brought to Emory. Its cooperative venture with one of the world's top University Medical Centers was an example of everything as it should be. First order success. Good decisions. Good execution. Brilliant overall, IMO.

However, its leadership took the foot off the gas in Dallas. Dallas occurred because of CDC bad policy, disorganization, and unfounded presumptions. Once the Emory model had established success, that model should have been provided in detail to THPH. Instead, THPH was left to reinvent the wheel, to figure it out on its own. Then there is the business of the Duncan aftermath -- infected workers, ambiguous travel policies, and attempts to pass the buck. In the process, Amber Vinson may lose her life.

So no, the CDC did not do all it should have.

Yea I wasn't discussing that. I was discussing how they were trying to lead and bait the guy into saying what they wanted to hear

Oh I agree. It's an attempt to make news rather than report it. Don't know that it differentiates any current news organization unfortunately.

The point is, a reporter could reasonably say in that instance, "what he/she simply wanted to hear" was the truth. They were incredulous at what they were hearing.

One of the worst examples I've seen was also Fox, where O'Reilly was discussing his POTUS interview in terms of wanting to win a "debate" with the President. It's a shame that is what "news" has become.

Fox News like the other networks don't have news shows anymore.

They have talk shows with talk show hosts doing talk show things.

If I want real news that answers who what when how and why, I will go turn on BBC or Al-Jazeera.
