Per Variety

I like it. He has been pretty good at the Tony's, and nothing could be worse than Seth.

Great pick, but people will complain no matter who they pick.

I remember when people complained about Bruno Mars for the Super Bowl. Then he killed it, but I didn't see a bunch of apologies.

Disagree. I think people complain after the fact when the host was clearly not up to it. Harris is proven to have done well hosting other shows and I think he will hit this out of the park.

He is one of those type of homosexuals that doesn't really act that gayish IMO. I didn't even know he was a homosexual until I saw on ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT that he married a man.

I really didn't think his homo-ness would be the focus in the thread.

In fairness, there weren't that many complaining. I, for one, - and everyone at our watch party - knew he would kill it. Best halftime in. . . many years.

I think he'll do well.

This seems to be a big up-step in his career. What I mean is that some of the hosts were already "big enough" for the job, while others kind of get "promoted" by getting the job of hosting the Oscars. For the latter type, it can make or break a star depending on how they do.

This. Mars was money

And I think NPH will kill it, as well. Might actually watch the Oscars for once.

Bruno was awesome, and NPH will be a fine host. That being said, after watching Gone Girl this weekend, I find him a little less funny, for the time being at least.

NPH at the 2013 Tony Awards was one of the best openings to an awards show ever IMO

Him and the entire band lip sung and pantomimed that half time show.

They could've just played his CD or a music video.

Killed it? Best in years? Hardly.
