Just finished season 1 and first 2 episodes of season 2.

It's a good show but it is no "The Shield", "TWD", "Breaking Bad", etc.

It actually has similar storyline is "The Shield" but story is not as good.

Please tell me it gets better. (Storyline, acting, etc)

First 3 seasons are solid. It gets worse after that.

This might be one of the more generic comments of all time but from what I've gathered it really is just about your personal taste. I know people who can't get through the 1st season, and people who have it as one of their all-time favorite shows.

eta: Which should be obvious in this thread alone, plenty of people dislike it but a lot of people must enjoy it for it to make it to 7 seasons.

I actually feel the reverse of this. I certainly enjoyed Breaking Bad, but I had watched SOA first and because of that Breaking Bad seemed kind of slow, like for the 1st few seasons they hardly seemed like they were in any kind of danger. For the first few seasons of BB "the bad guys" never seemed as dangerous as the ones in SOA.

As for TWD, I really enjoyed the first season but the farm and jail seasons really took me out of the series.

Same. I thought it was great until the fourth season. now it really just sucks to me, but I can't stop watching because I'm already in to deep.

If you're one of those people who hate movies/ tv shows because things that happen in them "would never happen in real life", then you should stop watching now.

I was never able to take it seriously enough to follow on a weekly basis. Just following the current season to see how it ends and for comedic value.

You just have to suspend all reality and treat it like a live action comic book.

Stop after season 3 and tune into the finale in a few weeks to see how it ends. Wish I would of taken this advice. It is pretty horrible now.

Don't watch season 3, it is garbage. I'm in the boat that is glad it's ending.

There was always just too much going on and every character had a dozen secrets. Had they sat down and hashed it out then 90% of the series would be resolved. I enjoyed it for the most part though.

Need to catch up I kinda cooled around season 5.

It's fricking awesome if you can just relax and not take it seriously. It's almost like a fantasy set in some lawless biker town.

Like I said in the original post, I loved "The Shield" and SOA is written (or produced) by the same guy.

It has a similar feel of "The Shield", but it seems they are taking it too fast, not building characters. Plus they are jamming too much in to a short time frame of the show.

I'm still going to watch it (maybe one more season), and give it a chance. I just see people talking up SOA like it is equivalent to TWD, BB, Lost, or other GREAT shows, and I don't see it.

I'll personally never understand this logic when watching something that is deliberately fiction. It's not a historical count or a documentary of anything. It's TV.

SPOILERS FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T FINISHED BREAKING BAD

Going back to Breaking Bad, do you remember the finally? You want me to believe White could kill all those Nazis using some automated gun out of the back of a car? He was a chemist, not an engineer. How many kills did they get away with? How many laws did they break and get away with it? How many times did he fly through traffic going 80+mph and not once no one called the cops on him for it. etc.

It gets worse. I am simply watching it to see how it ends. I can deal with unrealistic shows however SOA has reached comic book levels of being ridiculous. The acting has gotten worse as well.

Felt the same way. I enjoyed the first two & quit watching halfway through three, but I started back watching on a, "when I remember" basis last season. It's still better than most of what's on.
