Is Joseph Randle worth a stash spot going forward?

PPR, 12 team

McCoy
Vereen
P. Thomas

I just dropped Steven Jackson for Joseph Randle. I start a WR in my flex typically, so I should be fine in regards to a BYE week (if none of my players get hurt).

Murray hasn't shown he can go the distance yet, and he's getting a lot of carries so far. I'm not hoping he gets hurt, but the likelihood of it happening is there. I would think Dunbar would see an increase in carries, but Joseph Randle would be a RB1 immediately with the way the Cowboys O-line has been playing

The Dallas Morning News reports the Cowboys aren't planning to suspend RB Joseph Randle for his shoplifting arrest.
Advice: Per reporter Brandon George, Randle will be fined between $10,000-$30,000. The underwear and cologne Randle was trying to lift from his local Dillard's just got a lot more expensive.

I'm currently 4-2, with the highest point total in the league so far. Making the playoffs is extremely likely, so I can sacrifice a little with the chance for big gain.

I stashed him this week in the same type of league, 12 team PPR. I was a little hesitant because I still have some byes coming up and I'll need spots for an extra TE and QB but I don't see any way Murray holds up with the workload they're giving him

Definitely:

"DeMarco Murray (illness) missed practice on Wednesday"....Likely ebola.

If not, Murray is getting a shite ton of carries. Even if you do not take into account his extensive injury history, anyone getting that many carries is going to be at risk of injury at some point.

ETA - I picked him up this week as a stash.

Cowboys said today they're fining him and not suspending him

And even if they change their mind or the NFL steps in, which I don't think happens, you just drop him. It's pretty low risk, I dropped effing Andrew Hawkins to pick him up

That's irrelevant, and yes I did read it. So a slap on the wrist fine will be good enough for Commish? Seriously doubt it.

I don't think he's worth a stash. He has value if Murray gets hurt, but he's a borderlibeFlex play. And I don't think he's built to be an every down back

So what's the worst that happens if he does get suspended? Oh my god not my last spot on my bench, I could have used it for Jerrico Cotchery!

He's not a borderline flex play if Murray is out..he's a RB2 at the absolute worst.

A $30k fine for a misdemeanor shoplifting for a guy making $475k. I would say yes. Commish doesn't give a shite about shoplifting.

ETA - Also it appears to be his first offense. No chance of a suspension.

based on what?

shite, Lance Dunbar has gotten more snaps than Randle as is(47 to 28). You'll likely see a time share and the Cowboys would assuredly air the ball more.

RB2 at the the worst means you'd think he prob produce at a RB1 clip. I just don't see it. RB2 at best, more than likely just a Flex play.

Because Dunbar is a completely different back than Murray and operates as COP. Randle is much more similar to Murray.

If Murray goes down, Dunbar will get more play, but not a huge increase. His role will basically stay the same with some extra touches. Dunbar is 5'8" and cannot run inside. With that o-line and the success they have had, the Cowboys will not simply abandon the run if Murray goes down.

I think Randle will get 20 carries a game if Murray goes down. With that line and Dez keeping defenses honest, he will be RB2 productive with RB1 potential.

dude, Randle is 6' 204.

Dunbar is 5'8" 205

I agree that Randle is prob a better inside runner, but it's not like Randle is built like Murray to get a ton of carries. He's a slashing type of RB.

Cowboys list Randle at 210 and Dunbar at 195. Cowboys know that Dunbar cannot run inside.

I am aware that Randle is lean and a middling talent, but I think the Dallas oline will make him a serviceable RB2 with upside.

those are their height and official weights from the combine(or pro day, in Dunbar's case)

Im not against handcuffing, but I think there are only 4-5 situations out there that require one. But if you are in a deep league and you're last player is crap anyway, might as well
