I need new friends:
"With the economy now back to pre-Bush strength, with Obama saving Detroit and car (read: American) manufacturing, with greater environmental protections being put in place, and with a war that we don't fight alone against ISIS, but actually bring in allies to put boots on the ground -- How in the hell are Obama's and Democrats' approval ratings so low?
What in the f is wrong with you people?"

Someone doesn't have a sense of reality and short term history.

Yet they still scream about needing more UE benefits.

Detroit is still bankrupt and begging for a bailout.

Such as?

What boots and what ground are they on?

He's actually quite intelligent, 36, and successful. Just a dyed in the wool liberal.

Sounds just like a FB friend I just ditched. I guess those who can't see our friends' point have simply been brainwashed by Fox Limbaugh.

It's not even back to the level it was under bush. Id like that person to point to where we have anywhere close to the GDP growth, wage growth, and unemployment levels of the late 90s

quote:he sounds nothing like a liberal, he sounds like someone so desperate to justify voting for Obama that they make stupid fb statuses to try to show people how smart they are

Depends on which measurement you use. The deficit as a % of GDP has seen quickest sustained reduction since WW2. Obviously the debt is up, and will continue to be a problem as the baby boomers keep retiring. Unemployment is better than it was in 2008, but those numbers are so manipulated by both sides I don't really trust them.
I happen to think the economy is a lot better than it was in 2008, but still has a ways to go, and it's not all attributable to Obama.

There is a show in Discovery called Forgotten Planet. It's about places that have been abandoned and are basically falling apart.
In 2011 there was an episode that featured Detroit. You should find the video and link them to it.

2008 sure.
2007? No
2006? No
2005? No
2004? No
2003? No
2002? Warmer
2001? Sure
