Got a bird hunting trip to Arizona planned later in the year. We won't have dogs but will be walking in the desert. Anyone hunt these before in AZ or out west? Tips? TIA

Never have, but I don't think dogs are effective when hunting them...

From what I have read you find some likely spots and push through the brush to kick them up. That will probablf be our plan absent any other advice.

I think they manly drive the roads looking for them, get out and then work the cover...

A co-worker did that a few times I think. He didn't really appreciate it coming from Illinois.

They drive the roads looking for birds, when you see them jump out and run towards them and take the first shot possible.

Yea, in Southern New Mexico numerous times. PLENTY of public land with no one around.

Find water, shoot doves in the morning around the water, walk around/drive around or better yet if you have trained horses shoot quail, then back to the water for doves in the evening.

Simple, but this was 10- 15 years ago.
