We should tell the Balkan countries that we'll look the other way and let them wipe that shithole off the planet.

The Turks have also started bombing Kurdish positions in country.

The target is the PKK, who are terrorists but who also support the Kurds in Iraq and hate ISIS.

This kind of jives with all the info that Kurds are putting out about the Turks supporting ISIS, such as treating some of their leaders wounded in Syria and transported to Ankara.

Turkey hates the Kurds. If they knew ISIS would leave them the frick alone, they'd let the Kurds be slaughtered. As it is (and as is apparent), they are very reluctant to interfere.

and they hate Arabs as well. Its a win either way for them and can strike when one faction has been defeated and the winner is weak.

Well Turkey would push their shite in. The Serbs would just use it as an excuse to attack Croatia and Bosnia again.

O and looking away while a fellow NATO member is attacked. You sound real bright.

Various "official" sources list the Kurds anywhere between 15-20% of Turkey's population, about the same as in Iraq.

So I know The Turks have some tanks lined up on the border of Syria and their country, why not get in the fight and help their own out?

Turks are not too fond of minorities in their country. Just look at how well they treated the Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks who happened to live in Turkey. They realize they can't use the same techniques to rid themselves of the Kurds as they used on the Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks.

Turkey is essentially an ally of ISIS. They will not lift a finger to fight ISIS and to make things worse are forbidding Kurds to enter into Syria. Its been a couple of weeks since the Turkish parliment authorized their military to go to war with ISIS. So, who do they bomb? KURDS!

Turkey most likely has cut a deal with ISIS - the Turks won't really fight them if ISIS stays south of the border. Delusional.

quote:

Turkish aircraft are reported to have bombed Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK) positions in southeast Turkey, in a move which many fear will put an ongoing peace process at risk.

F-16 and F-4 jets flying from bases in Malatya and Diyarbakir struck PKK outposts in the mountainous Daglica district in Hakkari province late on Monday night in response to previously unreported RPG attacks by the group on a military guard post in the area, according to the English language Hurriyet Daily. The area has been the site of regular clashes between the Turkish armed forces and the PKK, which has fought for more than 30 years for greater autonomy within Turkey and is considered by authorities to be a terrorist organization.

They were the first strikes of their kind since a government initiated peace process with the PKK began in 2013. Parts of southeastern Turkey recently saw widespread protests in response to Ankara's lack of action in the face of a major offensive by Islamic State (IS) jihadists on the majority Kurdish town of Kobane on the Syrian-Turkish border

Dot, not feather.

A strange looking little Indian man and his assistant started showing up at some of our annual industry meetings about ten years ago where technical papers were being presented.

He claimed to have his own consulting company in India and he asked A LOT of questions, weird ones and really, really specific. His assistant's job consisted mostly of furiously transcribing your answer to his questions and attempting to draw whatever was being shown on the projector screen in real time.

Everybody knew what he was up to.

Our industry has zero trade secrets and if we did, we weren't going to convene an open meeting to tell each other what they are.

Funny thing is, if he would have simply coughed up $75 and joined the association, he would have received in the mail a neatly bound copy of all the papers that were presented.

Its the logical conclusion. The kurdish government likely has a similar deal with the sunni insurgents. I wouldn't call the turks or the kurds allies of "ISIS", but this rebalancing holds some benefit to kurdish gov and turkish gov.

This is a mutation of the same struggle that existed when the USMIL was in iraq. The kurds and the turks will deal with ISIS as long as they can draw benefit. Eventually these sunnis will settle into more mature governance or whittle away into nothing while taking a buncj of resources down with them. The kurds and the turks both want the governance option.

For some reason its a culture that cant say no. I think they find it disrespectful to admit that cant or dont want to do something. It is a pride issue more than anything. It is just outright lying in most cases, but they just dont see it like we do I guess. They sure know how to make shite difficult.

Turkey is helping ISIS

Erdogan’s “dealings with the ISIS are unacceptable. I could not believe that Turkey harbors an ISIS militant camp in Istanbul,” Roth said. “Turkey has also allowed weapons to be transported into Syria through its borders. Also that the ISIS has been able to sell its oil via Turkey is extraordinary,” she added.

Turkey categorically denies any dealings with ISIS. But there are many reported accounts of foreign jihadi fighters crossing from Turkey to Syria, wounded militants treated in Turkish hospitals and Ankara turning a blind eye to ISIS selling smuggled oil.
