You're halfway home when you realize your boneheaded mistake. The manager sends security to retrieve the gun for safe keeping until arrangements can be made to pick it up. They will not ship it to me. I've got a friend willing to bring it back to me the weekend of 10/25 but wondered if the great OB might have a more immediate solution?

Turn around and go get it...

Not much more can be done really, and i would double check to make sure they will let your friend pick it up for you

we'e scattered out everywhere, what town is it in, there's a possibility we can pony express it back to you. there are several of us that do that on a REGULAR basis

my main concern is why was this gun in a safe and not "on you", unless you were going to a bar, airport, etc.?

Depends on how far halfway is. 30 minutes and I'm turning around. an hour or more, I can be without my gun for a couple of weeks.

Halfway and didn't turn around? There’s only two reasons I’m not turning around halfway- family in hospital or I've successfully crossed the basin without traffic. God, I hate that bridge.

Ding! Ding! I successfully crossed the MRB and basin bridge on my way back to Houston. Pit bosses tend to frown upon Kimbers being carried in their presence. I appreciate all of the suggestions. It is a very strange feeling not having one's normally-available carry piece when these Houston ebolamites get to creepin'.

I'd go get it.

Where did you leave it and where do you live?

Left it at L'auberge?

Somebody could pick it up for you. Maybe meet at a tailgate.

Might want to call the MOD and discuss with him. I'd have an issue giving someone else's gun to a "friend". Maybe there would be some liability issue in doing so.

Good luck.
