If you can get through about 3 really cheesy/bad effects eps in the first 8 shows... You will like this series a LOT.

Movie was on par with Fringe finale as far as wrapping things up goes.

Peacekeeper wars was one of the first things that made me happy media-wise post-katrina.

So there was a movie? Is there suppose to be another movie coming out or something?

Movie took a couple years to get done - but it was worth it. They left an opening for more movies.

ETA:

Just checked imdb... apparently new movie/mini-series being kicked around.

WOULD LOVE

wormholes
alien races at war
living space ship
love story between the 2 most obvious characters

what did I leave out?

(to me Claudia Black wearing polkadot bell bottoms makes the entire thing worth it)

If y'all make one of those threads going through the series episode by episode I'm down. I stopped midway through the 2nd season, not for a lack of interest, but Netflix and other streaming sites yanked them at the time and I just didn't pick it back up when they became available again.

I had no idea another movie was being kicked around. Cool stuff. It was a fantastic series and I'd be game for a rewatch too.

Starts slow.

Rockets to a finish.

Well worth all the DVDs that I slowly but surely purchased (back before online digital became a "thing".)

Make sure you watch the movie finale...really ties a bow on the whole series.

Met her at a comicon last year...nicest actress I have ever met...(and pretty damn hot).

I suggest that for the first 10 episodes - we keep editing one post each as we watch then go in chunks once we know who wants to play along.

Couldn't help myself...

EPISODE 1 - PILOT

I forgot that this show started out in "standard" old TV format. lol It has been a while.

First of all - One of the best character introduction sequences of all time. Takes about 10 lines of dialogue from each character to set up EXACTLY what you need to know as far as initial dynamics.

Translator microbes one of the best things ever. Cuts through so much "learning" and red tape that waste episodes.

I forgot how forced the Peacekeeper scenes on their ship felt... but necessary to get the ball rolling.

Virginia Hey (Zahn) was quite the looker...

above from Mad Max (the 2nd one)

Soooo much humor - both subtle and completely bathroom (Rigel farts helium).

"Boy was Spielberg ever wrong. Close Encounters, my arse."

TBC...

I just realized how terrible I would be if tried to participate in a re-watch thread.

I am about to start S01 E05 "PK Tech Girl" and have had zero interest of sharing any thoughts on the last few episodes.

Great idea to rewatch, though.

Good show, gets weird somewhere in the middle. It's a good weird for the most part though.

But still weird.

Ends pretty strong though, although the first half of the last season is confusing.

Non spoilery stuff through the first 6 eps...

NEVER SWALLOW THE DENTIC

DRDs haven't QUITE gotten to where they are showing specific personalities... but it's beginning.

So far there has been an episode that gives insight into every character's "environment" if not specific backstory except for Zahn.

Humans and Sabaceans are indeed compatible (in theory... beginning in practice). Hints are starting to drop.

Slow and steady language replacement has begun. This was soooo much cooler before BSG did the exact same thing years later.

How far are you into this?

I started watching it maybe a year or two ago got halfway through season 1 then stopped. Enjoyed myself but it's just what I do in Netflix seasons.

Stargate is by far one of my favorite series of all time so I'm pretty sure I will enjoy this.

Interesting. I've stalled out on this series 3 times in the middle of season 3. A watch thread might get me over the hump.
