I like trolling big 3/4 oz. Rattle Traps with pink squid trailers.
I have also seen people trolling big stick baits. Your bait must be a deep diving bait for it to work.

Absolutely not. Not to mention Ellington plays Seattle twice, one being week 16.

There is not much I hate in the fishing world more than trolling the Causeway.

It's just so slow. Would rather beat pilings.

eta: like physically...beat pilings. Until my hands bleed.

, Drink some beers, set out 4 sets, two go off at the same time with only two people on the boat, one has to steer.

Anything but boring.

Been had that plenty of times.

Still would rather bloody knuckles.

Seriously though, it's just not for me. I've tried to warm up to it so many times, but I don't have the patience. I'm the type of fisherman that if this shite isn't working then we're making serious moves and trying something else. Trolling the Causeway puts me in too much of a bind when the shite isn't working. It's like I'm claustrophobic....on a lake 23 miles wide.

train is 'train. short for Pontchartrain not train trestle. though I am not opposed to trolling them.

the way to have fun trolling is good friends, beer, music, and going faster that 1.5 mph. lol hopefully my theory with the downriggers will work and I can troll at 4-5. I am sure I will have to slow down once the water cools under 75 degrees.

Speaking of the trestle, FWIW, some older padnas of mine have told me stories and showed me photos of times back in the 90s where it was nothing to flip 7lb trout trolling the trestles. Nets were only used for +8lb I'm talking decks full of 5-6lb trout like it was nothing. Curiously enough, two of those dudes have a top 10 trout and both came from the trestle area.

I wish I had a time machine.

I like casting when i'm fishing but am not opposed to different techniques from time to time. Guess that's what does it for me.
