Got me thinking about a song by one of my favorite comedians... Chico Marx He was a Jew and mocked Italians:

That got me thinking about Harpo. He couldn't speak (although he could IRL) and was mocking the handicapped:

So, then I started thinking about other shows that were great would not be allowed on TV today.

There was Chester Good...another handicapped person with a wooden leg on Gun smoke:

And then there was funniest show on TV in the 50s.. Amos and Andy:

Note... in Amos and Andy the wife is smart. The husband is stupid. Ever heard of that plot?

And then there was everyone's favorite African family:

None of these shows could be produced today. In fact, PC has caused many of the classics to be banned from re-runs.

So why are we celebrating Christopher Columbo intruding on the pristine land of the indigenous peoples? Certainly they would have developed into an advanced society without Europeans.

Some of them did a decent job of it, but disease was the reason for their downfall.

Notice how Europeans had a similar technological advantage over Asia and Africa, yet those places still maintain a majority of their native populations.

By the time that happened (and the Trail of Tears was truly awful), probably a good 75-85% of the native population of the Americas had died.

So you are saying F Troop would not be a good show for today?

Exactly, since I'm 25% Apache, 75% of me feels guilty but not for the Smallpox blankets.

Fify.

Native Americans weren't really known for their sea-worthy vessels.
