Mother board issue?

So my computer locked up and crashed the other night. Since then I can power it back up but I'm not getting any signal from the GPU (monitors receiving no signal) and no power from my USB ports. Fans all start up, including the GPU fan, and things like my CD Rom still have power.

Does mother board sound like the right call? There aren't any indicator lights on it that I can find sadly.

Probably, but with the broad symptom of "no post" the only way to know for sure is to swap out parts one by one.

Is your GPU onboard? If so, then sounds like you're changing the board. I'd go through the basic troubleshooting and voltage testing on the PS, but most likely a board issue.

Pull memory modules first, it could just be that.

GPU is a separate card.

I like that there are so many different people on this board...The OP says no video on his monitor..He goes on to say that he has a dedicated graphics card...

Some of our minds say " have you tried the onboard video, to at least know if the system boots and you just don't see it" (These people went to school for too long and have a degree, or have years of life experience)

Some of our minds go to Specs of the PC... (I bet these people are Cisco certified though)

This isn't directed directly towards you ILLSUT, more to the guys like the douche at my work who thinks his 4 wasted years at ITT and his Cisco certs should count for more..

I asked for specs of PC on the off chance I could identify the motherboard specifically, some of which exhibit specific behaviors.

Also, not every platform natively supports integrated video.

I don't know. Maybe I'm wasting my time trying to help on this board.

We just have differing opinions, and different styles of troubleshooting..I give the young "tech" here shite all the time because he immediately goes by the book when asking questions, when just calmly thinking about whats going on, normally solves the issues

I was mostly posting on this board to help, teach, and clarify -- supporting any and all advice or questions that help lead to the most thorough and complete solution.

General passive aggressiveness and needless clashing over mundane shite has led to burnout.

Roughly 2 years old, not custom built. I'll pull the specs when I get home tonight. My knowledge of hardware is even worse than my knowledge of software so I appreciate the help.
