Specifically across or down the middle?

Is it trust/anticipation in the WR's routes or not a strong enough arm by Jennings?

Also it seems we abandoned the RB screen. But it really takes a special type of RB to run the screen. If you follow the Saints there is a major production drop off from Pierre Thomas to the other RBs on the RB screen. It takes a lot of discipline to run the RB screen. It's a play that's probably too technical and we are probably a little too inexperienced as a unit (currently). The OL, RB and QB have to sync up almost perfectly on an RB screen so I can understand why we haven't seen that play call in awhile.

More experience from WR's and QB reps. Takes time.

People forget that Johnny Manziel and Jamies Winston weren't throwing to fr /so WRs

1. a more productive passer. Sounds simple but it is the initial requirement.

2. an entirely different offensive coaching mindset from the one incorporated thus far in 2014.

some creativity would help it out.

not trying to beat a dead horse, but outs and streaks are about all we've been throwing this year.

drags, option routes, smash routes, even the dreaded bubble screen could help get the qb into rhythm.

Is is a question of knowing what to do or, a question of knowing what to do but not capable of doing it?

IMO, Jennings inability to feel pressure is hampering this offense and Cam's play calling. The offensive playbook gets really small when Jennings (and Harris versus Auburn) can't make the throws down the middle that require the QB to step up and sling it through a window.

Either for harris to learn the offense better, or Jennigns to get a stronger arm.

Jennings has shown zero improvement since the bowl game last year.

He's still awful.

I disagree, we did much better on some third down conversions passing the ball Saturday night. Look for the positive people!

1. Jennings to throw to someone other than Dural
2. Les to let it go. I really believe that after Lee's pick 6 riddled 2008 that Les is terrified of his qb's and will throw only when absolutely necessary. He had faith in Mett so he let it go. This year no.

OK, this has to die. Maybe early on he only had eyes for Dural - but what's wrong with looking to your #1 first?

He has gotten better about this, certainly. He was quick to hit Jones, threw to Quinn, tried a TD pass to a TE, etc.

A coach that will call it and a qb that can make the throw.

and what, pray tell, is this different "coaching mindset" ye speak of?

before you say spread 'em out, LSU has run a number of passing plays from the "spread" this very season. we have not been particularly successful at these plays. hopefully, we will improve enough do execute them.
