If anyone enjoys Medieval european history, this is a great series. I hadn't even heard of it til I randomly cane across it. Its a series of 8 1-hour episodes set in 14th century England, against the backdrop of Black Death and Hundred Years War. The acting is good and it never looks cheesy or small-scale. Although I don't care for the actor playing Edward III.

Apparently its the sequel to a book called Pillars of the Earth, which I'll be checking out very soon.

I actually liked him quite a bit. His voice has a way of being very comforting and very chilling at the same time. I really like him on Da Vinci's Demons.

I guess he's just not what I picture for Edward III, but its just a personal preference and isn't a big deal.
