One of the unquestioned highlights of February's hit The LEGO Movie was Will Arnett voicing a pompous Batman, and audiences are about to get a lot more of him as Heat Vision reports that Warner Bros. is readying a solo movie for the character to be released in 2017.

Yes, you read that right, that was the same release year as the LEGO Movie sequel, to be directed by that film's animation supervisor Chris McKay, but Warners is now fast-tracking the solo LEGO Batman film instead with McKay at the helm and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter creator Seth Grahame-Smith drafting the script.

The LEGO Batman movie will now likely take the May 26, 2017 date and The LEGO Movie sequel will now be pushed back to after 2017.

Will Arnett, who parodied Christian Bale's gravelly Batman vocals to perfection, will return to voice the Caped Crusader, and possibly one-up the songmanship on his heavy metal lyrics: "Darkness! No parents!" Original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller will again produce alongside Roy Lee, Dan Lin, who are simultaneously supervising Ninjago for a September 23, 2016 release.
