Keep holding out. He's surely going to be a top back...

Lacy had his best game last week and Starks got plenty of touches.

I also noted that on a drive where Starks played they put Lacy in the game when they got down near the endzone.

I'm not worried. Starks got plenty of touches and looked bad last Thursday. I'm sure they'll try it, and hopefully realize they need to feed Lacy. The offense looked completely different with Lacy and Starks in against the Vikings. I seriously don't understand why they're so hell bent on getting Starks inc over, he's not that good.

ETA: also did you even read the article? Nowhere in there does it say it's going to be a 50/50 split...

If anything I'm sure Starks will get invoked but it'll probably be more around 65/35 or 70/30.

Outside of that one good game, Lacy has been a wet pile of shite.

Starks is a little quicker and presents a different challenge for the defense.

Um Lacy was dealing with concussion issues, tough run defenses and awful blocking and offense production in general. That'd be a tough situation for any RB. He led the league in yards after contact going into last week.

And Starks is not a good back, at least to warrant 50/50 splits. Did you watch Thursdays game? That offense stalled big time whenever Starks was in compared to when Lacy was in.

Um, just reporting what my eyes saw. He looked slow.

I don't think Starks has earned a 50/50 split, but he presents a different challenge for the defense and should get carries.

I mean I'm not trying to Say lacy has looked like a world beater, but yes I do agree it shouldn't be 50/50

Yeah that article sounds like pure speculation. People take the safe, generic answers of coaches and twist them however they see fit. I would never put much stock into what they say to the media regarding players.

And Lacy has always been "slow". He's a 4.6 guy at 240, not a speed back

I thought he looked quicker last season. Could be wrong, though.

I don't know what I'm talking about. I can't remember what I ate for breakfast, much less what Eddie Lacy looked like last year.

ETA: While we're on the topic of slow RBs, I would like to see T Richardson take the Leveon approach to RB.

normally I agree but this is the same coach (RBs) that said in the preseason Lacy would be their workhorse and get a ton of touches per game. Now he's obviously changing his tune.

Seems legit, although I don't think Starks is that great either

Yes, yes I did.

From RotoWorld's take on the article:

The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel believes it "appears the Packers plan to maintain a split" in the backfield with Eddie Lacy and James Starks each playing 50 percent of the snaps.

After Starks didn't see a carry in Week 4, he out-snapped Lacy 29-28 in the Week 5 win over the Vikings and finished with 12 carries to Lacy's 13. While most chalked it up to the Packers winning in a rout, the coaching staff apparently wants to keep the split 50-50. "To keep them fresh, I think is very important," RBs coach Sam Gash said. "James has warranted playing time." The Packers view both as "complete" and interchangeable backs. It's not good news for Lacy owners. But it's no reason to keep him out of lineups. In the end we'd expect it to be more of a 60-40 or 65-35 split in favor of Lacy. He needs to build off his Week 5.

A 50/50 snapcount isnt a big deal. It was probably something like a 60/40 snap count already this year.

Like that says, Starks got more snaps than Lacy last week yet Lacy had 105 rushing, 3 recs for 27receiving yards and 2 TDs. And most of those rushing yards came between the tackles.

Lacy will get majority of the carries and the goal line work. Plus, havent we heard this before with Starks? That he looks great, in line for more carries and all that.... and then he either struggles in his expanded role, gets injured, or it just never happens.

Untill it actually consistently happens and Starks does well and stays healthy, I wont be too worried about it.

Exactly

They have been saying this for 3 years dating back to when Alex green, Ced benson and Starks were a three headed monster. Last year it was Jonathan Franklin and Starks who looked great and would time share w Lacy

Basically McCarthy talks a lot of shite

Yep....

And it wasnt even McCarthy that said this, it was theRBs coach. McCarthy was laughing his arse off last week when Lacy was running people over last week.
