At least one council person asked a pointed question.

quote:

Nonetheless, Councilwoman Donna Collins-Lewis wanted to know how much Festival Productions makes on that weekend, which Arrigo said is proprietary information. "We're giving them a rebate with taxpayer dollars. Why don't we have a right to know that information?" Collins-Lewis pushed. Ultimately, the contract was approved.

Exactly how much money is being funneled to this project?

Full story with pluses and minuses.

Because Festival Productions doesn't want another production company to know what kind of numbers they might have to beat in order to woo the council their way?

Ya, but if there is public money involved then tough shite, the public should know. This isn't the details of the bin Laden raid or anything.

The event last year was a huge success as it has been in previous years. The rebate incentive is nothing compared to what the city benefits in a football off season. The council doesn't want to mess this up by offering it to another company who cannot prove they will do an equal job for less money.

I'm a supporter of this event. I believe sometimes money lost is worth the exposure and goals set forth but when the city is doling out funds at the local level, we should see how much is truly needed. The books should be open and audited.

The state also puts up money as does the city/parish.

I think all of the perks need to be published so that people realize how many of our tax dollars is subsidizing the event.

Obviously a racist who hates whites, their music and their culture.

Is that how you're supposed to do it?

Bad day?

You do realize besides the ticket rebate there are other direct public subsidies?

Then again maybe you don't know everything.

So you want me to believe in a thread you started about tax rebates for which you provided a link, what you are really asking is how much in total government subsidies the show's producers get?

Oh, okay.

You don't even know what's in the link you provided.....

You and me
We come from different worlds
You like to laugh at me
When I look at other girls
Sometimes you're crazy
And you wonder why
I'm such a baby
Cause the Dolphins make me cry

Guess who's bizzack
Still smell the blow on my clothes
Like crispy cream I was cooking them o's
Like horseshoes I was tossing them o's
Time to re-up gotta recycle the flow
I'm emotional
I hug the block
I'm so emotional
I love my glock

Well there's nothing I can do
I only wanna be with you
You can call me your fool
Only wanna be with you
Put on a little Dylan
sitting on a fence
I say that line is great
You ask me what I meant by

Cash rules everything around me
So whats realer
Bout the scriller so call me a ghost face killer
Its kinda hard to be drug free
When Georgia power won't give a **** lights free
Switched hustles been killing em ever since
Been paid to tell the truth it only make sense

a bit of an odd duet..but, who can decide on art?

I obviously can't make any definite decisions until I hear how much the beat rattles the sub in my truck, but thus far on paper it seems promising.

Here's what I asked, why complicate matters?

I think it's a fair question to ask.

But keep trolling, I don't care .
