it is a dissaociative mechanism.
Some things that drive that are
Pain
Anxiety
Insecurity
Those are more likely than medical

Thanks for bringing this up. You leg shakers annoy us non leg shakers so much. It gets ridiculous when I can feel it shaking the ground or am otherwise affected by it.
I've wanted to say something when it gets bad, but I feel like it's like telling someone to stop twitching or something. Can you stop or do you have to do it?

I had a cousin who did this. He went all homicide/suicide on his family one night out of the blue. I'd seek help.

It's done without thinking. It would be hard to control.
I used to do this when I was a teenager and younger. I'm not exactly sure when I stopped.

My wife can't stand it. Just about every guy I know does it.

If someone asked the person to stop would they be able to?

The gay porn magazine you were fapping to at the time?

I'm not friends with anyone who does it. Guess you leg twitchers stick together

Yeah, the person could stop at the moment. But then the person might just start again a little while later without thinking about it.

I was in English class in Allen Hall. In the middle of class, out of the blue, the chick next to me reaches over and puts her hand on my leg, just beneath the hem of my shorts. I was like, hot damn, until she said with gritted teeth "stop. shaking. your leg."
So close.
So close.
