No dominant power, but the anticipation of the playoff makes it pretty awesome. New Year's Day will never be the same, for the better.

For me its because LSU will be irrelevant in the end. I still enjoy it, but my fire went out after last weekend.

To me its missing a few of the traditional powers. I mean we are considering the mississippi schools and Baylor as potential playoff participants.
I am not saying thats bad or anything, it just brings a new flavor.
A lot of football left to play though. I expect Bama to rebound and dominate until another epic iron bowl showdown, which takes place in Bryant Denny thank god.

Someone explain to me why the perceived lack of a dominant team hurts their enjoyment of the season. My thinking would be that if there was no team steam rolling everyone they played the season would be great for everyone because you don't know what the outcomes will be.

CFB started going downhill in 06 and this season has been absolutely terrible imo. I've watched maybe 8 hours of college football and I'm not complaining. It's not the same.
