I've kind of heard a couple of stories behind how it got started & stuff but I was just wondering if it bothered any of y'all? What do y'all think about it? Just wondering.

It's so dumb. I get a kick out of it how almost every away trip I go on somebody always brings up the corndogs and think I'm getting so agry about it.

It's one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. Of all the things we could be called (And there are a lot), they had to copy and paste a stupid story about Nebraska to make fun of us. Imbeciles.

And I guess I'm in the minority, but it bothers the crap out of me. It's SO damn stupid, yet somehow has caught on everywhere. I was happy my son and a friend of his were right there with me two years ago walking to the stadium in Gainesville because there was one obnoxious dumbass I would have most likely told to shut the F up otherwise. And of course that may have escalated.

I think that it's the most unoriginal insult a fan base can throw at us. Frankly, if an opposing fan calls me a corn dog I immediately know he's an idiot and disregard anything he says.

It doesnt bother me i just honestly cringe when other fans think that it does. I really kind of feel bad when you have to rip off another schools joke to try and be funny or original. I have nothing against corndogs but havent had one in about 15 years.

Doesn't bother me at all. I think the story is that it was an nickname/insult that the fan base of some school (maybe Oklahoma) used against Nebraska fans because - well because they are the Cornhuskers. So it made some sense.
I'm not sure but I think it was Auburn fans that were casting about for some way to insult LSU fans. And, not being able to come up with anything original they appropriated the Corndog thing.
To be honest, after this weekend's gameday, the thought of Katy Perry's mouth around my corndog has given the term rather pleasant connotations.

I think what takes some of the bite out of it is the fact that it's a retread insult. Oklahoma fans started calling the Nebraska fanbase corndogs in the mid-80's, and it took off with the rest of the Big 12 joining in shortly after.
So I guess I am offended at the fact that it's not original more than anything.
