Is Yadier Molina the best NL catcher since Johnny Bench?

This guy is a leader, an exceptional hitter, and arguably the best defensive catcher in baseball.

He plays the game the right way, and I truly admire that.

I can't get over his leadership abilities. None of the Cardinals' pitchers would be 11-game winners without his expertise.

Candidates
Javy Lopez
Russell Martin (when he was in LA)
Yadier Molina
Mike Piazza
Geovany Soto

Sidebar: I think Mattingly's choice of pinch running, objectively, the worst base runner in the league this year, was a great idea.

Damn I missed where you said NL. I was about to bash you but we're good.

To your question it's either Molina or piazza, basically if you want amazing offense and crap defense or good offense and amazing defense.

Why Martin only in LA? He turned the staff around in Pittsburgh.
