Yep. Everyone does to some extent. I guess it really depends on the ties back home. I did on the first duty station half the country away. Just made those trips back home that much more special.

yes - was living in Milwaukee, WI and my Dad in AL developed Pancreatitis and almost died - and due to money constraints i could not make it home during the time he was ill.
