@RVargasAdvocate: DLP's bet was Kromer would bring out best in him. MT @GiancarloKing: The Bears' Brian de la Puente's currently ranked as @PFF's top center.

I think the loss of Kromer is a way bigger deal than anyone thinks.

Didn't pretty much everyone say that last year?

Many of us were saying Ingalls at OL coach was a problem. It isn't a shock that our center leaves back to Kromer and becomes better. It is also not a surprise that our previous Probowl guards suck now.

It was a mistake to put Ingalls at OL coach and the offense has paid for it.

Losing Kromer still hurts.

Our line has not been the same since he left, especially in pass protection. I don't care what anyone says.

Kromer definitely helped him. guess its hard to argue with pure stats (is this season long or one week?) but the 2 bears games I saw he got blown up a few times. idk how he is ranked as the top center.

People think losing Kromer wasn't a big deal?

Maybe a few said it, but "everyone"?

No.

This board has been sunshine pumping since the end of last season. Let's not act like people have been calling this fiasco.

Every time something is pointed out as obviously wrong, we have people come here and say, "I told you so." Well, if you did (and I am not saying that you did), you didn't say it very much or very loud. I check this board every day - season or offseason. All that I saw from this board was sunshine pumping.

I think it has effected our offense as a whole.

Many have been calling the loss of Curtis Johnson leaving affected our receivers. Thus far, true.

Many of us said losing Kromer last year was going to affect us. Next thing you know, Brees gets sacked 37 times. The year before? 26

Great OL coaches keep an eye on our players' hands and feet and when they come to the sideline tell them how to adjust. We don't have that anymore obviously.

Yep, many were hoping that Pete would get a head coaching gig so that we could keep Kromer

I'm one of the few that defended DLP on here. I never looked at him as a bad player. I viewed him as a serviceable player with lots of experience in the offense.

The line really started to click last season when Brown was replaced with Armstead (thank God he panned out), and Evans seemed to finally get healthy. The running game was outstanding once this fell into place. He had to play on a line with a hurt Guard, and horrendous LT that made the whole line look bad.

I think Lelito will do a fine job for us, but there are plenty of people that should eat crow for basically acting like DLP was one of the worst players on this team.

And as already mentioned, Kromer was a key part in what made this offense the best in the league.

O-line hasn't been the same since Kromer left

Wide Receivers haven't been the same since Curtis Johnson left

Secondary hasn't been the same since Dennis Allen left

All of these position groups have significantly dropped off, and it's not just because of talent...It's Payton & Loomis' job to recognize this and not accept it and make necessary changes.

Oddly enough, Joe Vitt is still around and our linebackers have struggled just as they always have been

I remember that. You said that if Jahri got healthy that DLP would play well. You were right

I don't think a lot of people realize how dominant Armstead was for us as a rookie outside of the 1st half vs Carolina. That was on Payton though for not giving him a single snap until he's going up against Hardy...he held his own in the 2nd half too.

He had a perfect pass blocking rating against Seattle. PFF had him with just 1 negatively rated play for the entire game. Pretty remarkable against the best pass rush in football.

Wasn't too shabby against Philly either facing Fletcher Cox and Trent Cole. 3 pressures in the playoffs

That's what happens, sustained success leads to losing key position coaches.

We need to start replacing certain ones after a few years of shitting the bed. That's why so many of us want Dennis Allen back. That's one coach we could actually bring back, but haven't yet.

Dude has a 7-5 record as a head coach. I guess he just doesn't care about being a head coach though. That is one of the most overlooked parts of the 2012 suspension, the preparation disadvantage from being understaffed. We should have gone with an interim coach

I wanted Kromer for OC, but it hasn't been the same since 2011.

The decline started in 2012 when Brees went from getting hit to 38x to 61x

people are overlooking the talent change of the positions since kromer was here. Granted kromer is probably a great coach but lets not act like its all coaching. He had jahri and nicks and bushrod and goodwin and other people all in their primes.

let me know when NFL teams start using your information. We know it isn't 100% accurate, but it still gives a pretty good summary of how a player is doing
