I guess it could be a red herring, but if it is I seriously doubt it is Barry. There is no way that Barry Allen would be willing to kill folks and be as ruthless the way that Wells has been shown on the show, unless he was some sort of alternate evil Barry from an alternate earth. They would be totally changing who Barry Allen is if they made him Wells.

The closest I can think of is the Johnny Quick of the Crime Syndicate, but he wasn't Barry Allen of that earth.

I'm glad you guys seem to have a clue. I started to suspect the dad because he was acting kind of strange. Then I was like "wells is the reverse flash" then i was like " can't be wells, he's beating wells up" and they were in 2 places at one time.
It's tough enough for an old guy like me to keep up with what's going on present time. Throwing in the future just loses me completely.

One option:
Wells is creating the Zoom suit, which is why he needed the Tachions from Mercury Labs The final shot was of Wells infusing the suit with the stolen Tachions.
That makes Wells the creator of Zoom, but not necessarily Zoom himself.

That is definitely a possibility.
So if Wells and future Eddie are working together, and if like Fewer Kilometres posted, Wells is creating a suit that is the actual source of RF's powers (which the suit is one of the different versions of how the RF does get his powers, but not the original version), then why does Wells need Barry alive since Barry would no longer be the reason the RF has his powers? I guess it could be both Barry and the RF are needed for the impending crisis...maybe?
Throwing in time travel into the equation sure does make it a headache trying to put all of the possible pieces together.
ETA: So if it turns out that you are right and Wells is not the RF, then who do you think Wells is? Someone the showrunners just created for the show, or someone from the comic universe?

I honestly have no idea. My only Flash knowledge comes from the show, this thread, and Wikipedia-ing random stuff. I just feel like they are trying to trick us into thinking Wells is RF. I also don't see him getting that buff in the future seeing as how he should be pushing 60 in the future timeline and has to pretend his is crippled.

Zoom may still derive his powers from Flash, but the Tachions may push him faster (which appeared to be the case last night).

I was thinking this when the lady who ran the other company said that Barry reminded her of Wells, but I guess that's just the Flash/Reverse Flash connection? I don't know, I'm not a comic reader, but the ending seems to leave little doubt that Wells is the reverse flash. Could be misdirection?
But that was an awesome episode. How long is the break?

I was thinking this too, that's why he didn't attack Eddie and what he meant when he said that he had been battling the Flash his whole life; task force to stop the Flash, battling over Iris, etc.

Is everyone ignoring that at the end of the episode Wells does the Zoom voice? its clearly him now. him doing that voice is the proof behind it all.
i figured that device allows him to go back in time. Barry has the speedforce, but Zoom never does (he eventually developed the negative version). i think this is the moment in time that allowed him to travel through time. its a paradox.

In the comics she gets her powers while hiding in some machine, some sort of coolant or something gets on her. Captain Cold doesn't have a hand in it (that I recall). But that doesn't mean that it couldn't happen on this show. They're definitely not scared to change up origin stories.

No but they could go that route in the show. I hope not though. At least not yet. I like her. Barry and Caitlin have the romantic chemistry. Moreso than Barry and Iris's BFF/sibling chemistry.
I'm assuming that Barry outing himself to Iris, will free him emotionally and now Caitlin and he will start to get closer. frick off Firestorm.

Yeah, I agree with you and Eric. Barry's obsession with Iris (who is basically his sister) is a little bit creepy.
