Any suggestions?

It's like it's hung up.

I would rule out the ammo first.

I have good ammo. I'm not an idiot.

Eta: it's hanging up on the first shot. I can't get one shot off.

Do you have a lasersight install. If you do there was reports that the screw was holding the slide.

Next check to make sure your magazine is all the way up.

Does the firing pin leave a mark on the primer?

It has a laser.

How do I check the firing pin?

Eta: Magazine is all the way up and there is one in the chamber.

I'd try a different clipazine if you have one.

If it isn't that and it isn't the ammo, you're gonna have to do some home gun smithing.

I can come fix it for you

Was there a mark on the round you tried fire #1...if not you have a broken firing pin as these are know for.
Field strip the pistol and see if its broken #2

Gotcha. Thanks

I wasn't really planning to fire more than one shot though.

Thanks for the help.

Will it dry fire? Where were you going to fire off a round?

That's pretty terrible.

Is there an improved one out there?

It may be under warranty and covered free of charge but there are after market firing pins.

This.

Every good firearm manufacturer will stay behind their product. If you have an issue, contact S&W and they'll pay you to send it back to them.

It sounds like it's the firing pin but it would be in your best interest to not try to disassemble it yourself. It could possibly void the warranty on it.

Contact S&W and tell them what's going on.

Then go buy an M&P Shield in 9mm because it's better.

Hey bap.... is that small enough for front pocket carry cargo short?

I need another carry.

It's close. Maybe with the smaller mag. But it's not as small as a bodyguard.

It would be the only thing you could put in that pocket. Very concealable IWB though.

The hammer on the bodyguard fricked with me for some reason. It was very distracting and I shot it like crap. It is also too small of a gun for my hands. Shield is 100x better IMHO, and the weird thing about it is that every guy I've spoken to with wide hands like mine likes the smaller mag best. It is as small a gun as I'm comfortable shooting
