Anyone know what's the avg price to paint a truck. Citadel builders is doing construction outside my apartment and decided to sling a boat load of cement all over my hood, roof, driver side front panel, driver door and back door, the grill, and a few spots (5-6) on the passenger side front panel. I was able to un-safely drive to Home Depot and buy a razor scrapers and get majority off my windows.

I've washed it 3 different times this weekend, different ways and it isn't doing anything. They are dragging their feet coming up with a solution and the cement it starting to cure at what seems even a faster rate.

Anyone with any suggestions? At this point I think it's a goner and will need a paint job, so some price ranges would be nice.

It's a tacoma by the way

Thanks in advance.

$3k is probably about right. If you have all the concrete off, and it's just stained, you may be able to get a full paint correction from a detail shop. They can do some pretty amazing things. But if it's on someone else's dime, I would get a new paint job.

I would bet the concrete pulled the clear coat off.

OP should take pics of the truck "before" so the when he sells it, buyers won't think the truck was in a bad wreck (requiring a complete repaint).

A high quality job would be over $4k. A cheap hack job would be under $1k. The paint is very expensive

Mineral spirits would be safer and accomplish the same thing.

Sounds like he's got deeper issues than that will fix.

The quality of that Fact-O-Bake paint job is worth even less than $600.

Why didn't you haul arse to the nearest carwash asap?
You could probably still pressure wash most of the concrete off.

Anyway, a reputable body shop is going to charge around $5000 to remove the concrete, sand, and repaint.

If you want to DIY....

quote:

THE SAFEST WAY - Spray pure vinegar on the concrete. The easiest way to apply the vinegar is to pour it into a clean spray bottle and spray it onto the concrete spots directly. Wait three to five minutes and spray once more. After the second spray, use the water sprayer to remove any additional concrete that comes off from the vinegar soak.

quote:

THE DETAIL SHOP WAY - A gallon of muriatic acid is about $5 at your local hardware store. I start with a 1:5 dilution ratio, that is 1 part muriatic acid to 5 parts water which works well for light splatter. If the concrete is caked on pretty heavy I'll up the concentration as needed. I spray it on the concrete and use a soft horsehair parts cleaning brush to agitate the mixture and help in the dissolving process. Spray...agitate...spray...agitate etc. etc. This method doesn't scratch the paint all that much but usually some correction afterward is necessary.

Shexter, I did. Go straight to a car wash when I saw it. Thing is jt has already been sitting there for a minute. And the guys in the truck that slung it on my truck could have came and got me and told me I need to go to the car wash but they didn't.

They sure did come finding who the truck belonged to and where I lived and my apt number and came banging on my door at daylight when I had only been off work for a few hours at the time and trying to sleep. But they wanted my parking space (which was legal)... But.... Let them drown your truck in concrete and they don't come search for you then.... it's pissing me off now talking about it.

Rotsa ruck.

There are acidic cleaners to remove concrete (which is basic). Purely mechanical removal (scraping it off) is not recommended as the concrete will take some of the finish along with it.

Find an inconspicuous area and try some acidic cleaners to soften the cementitious particles up first before trying to remove them. Rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse.....get it?

If you don't know what you are doing, tread lightly.

How about the company takes the fuxking concrete off of my truck.

I've already wasted probably a few hours total. Money on a razor scraper, had to go through a good 15 people trying to track someone with some authority down, 3 trips to the car wash, and also pulling up to my mothwrs hose pipe and trying to do something about it myself

It's bullshite
