My son's friend gave us a nice hindquarter, and I would like to have it made into a rump roast and stew meat. Where in BR can I take this and not break the bank?

Dude... get the knife and cut the roast out and cube up some stew meat

Not trying to be rude but you don't have to pay someone to do this

That should be a really easy task for a DIY. I roast out all my deer myself and make stew meat from the scraps and I am certain lots of other people do too. I would just tackle it yourself. It's really simple.

Okay. I'll give it a shot. I've never handled venison before, so I don't want to ruin this nice chunk of meat.

You'll see that when messing with it the individual muscles are easy to cut around. Those muscles are the roasts. So take your knife and cut along the path of least resistance.

You can do it easily. If you are unsure watch some videos on YouTube.

It's not worth it to pay if all you are doing is roasts and stew meat.

Just a hind quarter don't bring it somewhere.
1. Cut meat off bone
2. Cut meat into smaller pieces
3. You now have stew meat

Cut the lines to get the roast. You see once you start cutting.

Not necessarily Baton Rouge, but T-Wayne's in Gonzales (just outside of BR) will do this for you.

He's located off Highway 621 near Airline Highway.

What part of BR? I might swing by in the morning and do it for you. Can't let you frick up a good piece of meat.

I'll admit by the 3rd quarter I was getting pretty good.

The back ones are definitely easier than the fronts.
