I've always liked Miles, but the way we played was inexcusable

what is so frustrating is Mississippi State laid out the live practice tape for the Auburn game. Sure, it would have taken a herculean effort and some turnovers to have won. No one wants a "moral victory" but with the new players we have a loss to Auburn in and of itself wasn't unexpected.

We didn't compete nor seem to show any changes to the game plan from Miss State. That's what is so bothersome is we looked like an LSU team from the Hallman era.

Miles as well as Chavis and Cameron are paid a ton of money. Some improvement needs to be made quickly or 2015 is going to be a make or break year.

Exactly. We all want to win,but I can handle a loss if we look like we have a plan. We had no clue what to do.

Miles' approach midway through the third quarter was run the ball and milk the clock as much as possible. We shouldn't have attempted maybe 1 run every ten plays at that point in the game.

Miles was just trying not to lose by 50. And Malzahn got the message too when he saw Les wasn't trying to score anymore, so he shut the AU offense down and was mainly calling running plays.

Yep Miles kept banging his head against the wall. He was basically kneeling from the start just hoping to keep it close instead of trying to win.

I was thinking the same thing this past weekend. It thought back to the Georgia game last year. We lost, but we competed and were in the entire game. We ended up making a mistake (dropped punt) that cost us the game. I can live with that. You are going to lose games at times and even have down years. It happens! However, I can not support running this Jordan Jefferson offense with no success anymore. Let the talented quarterbacks run the same offense Mett ran and lets just see what happens....

Not that I disagree with most of your post, but Auburn runs on 70% of their plays this year. So Auburn running a lot is pretty much the norm.

this game, it seemed like Auburn could do what it wanted passing the ball.

so them running it from anyone other than Marshall seemed like mercy from Malzahn, to be honest.
