I am in the process of updating my golf bag and am looking into both of these. Can anyone enlighten me to the difference and some brands to check out? I'm currently playing with 2001's adams 3 and 5 woods.

I have the TaylorMade burner hybrids and I think that they're great.

i have a 3wood and a 3hybrid

they both have their merits

the 3 wood is a little longer, but I find the hybrid a lot easier to hit straight, mainly due to the shorter shaft

hybrid is easier to attack the ball out of not so good lies

I actually couldn't decide. I hit both well. So I got a strong 5 wood and cut it down to nearly a 2 hybrid length. So I go 9.75* driver, 13* RBZ Tour spoon 3 wood, 17.75* 5 wood

ETA: the 5 wood is a TM SLDR and the head is compact which resembles a hybrid.

I have Ping i20 for both 3wd and 3h. Both are great clubs, but for me they produce a low penetrating flight. Helps me with distance, but hitting them into a green would not be ideal for me.

When it comes to hybrids, Adams is the only way to go

I have an R11 3W and an RBZ 3H. I struggle to hit both, but that's a me problem and not the club. When I connect with them they launch.

I think the original rbz hybrids are some of the best ever made. Great distance and very easy to get the ball in the air.
