What is that old red brick compound with the smokestack on Tchoupitoulas Street at...State street, I believe? Looks gothic and creepy. And what is the area off Magazine behind Whole Foods called? Uptown? Garden District? I ate at Domilise's and the poboys are fricking awesome. I love that area.

Some of that is West Riverside. All part of Uptown.

Funny you should ask... That smoke stack is actually used to pump culture into the air. It then floats around and settles throughout the city.

Thanks, I've never heard the west riverside name.

Yeah, that area is now my favorite area too. That and the Bywater/Marigny area is a close second.

It's walking distance to Guy's, Domilise's, Whole Foods, Martinque Bistro, Bistro Daisy, Patois, Clancy's, St. Joes, Dos Jefes, Taceaux Loceaux, and more.

I've always wondered where it came from... Just assumed it was from a flood before the levees or something.

Not at that price. Are they really selling like that or just people listing at that price? I've been looking mainly in the Irish Channel and you will see really high list prices here and there but the homes are not selling for that price, they're going high but not what some of these people are asking.

Hey there. Take this to nextdoor.com?

Wish there'd be great stories on there like it sounds like subdivisions have.

Let's put it this way, people are buying old never been touched homes for a serious price and tearing them down. I wish I had a dumpster company.

Social networking for neighborhoods. Have to live in the neighborhood to join the group.

I did it because I hear it can be entertaining, but apparently that's for people in the burbs bitching about house colors and parking or something
