If not Miles than who?

My thoughts:
Dabo Swinney
Bobby Petrino

GTFO ... he is not as big of a clown as Miles ... but this man is not a good coach.

Remember ... Clemson is in the ACC.

I live out here and get to hear Yabo-Dabo soundbites and excuses all the time.

NOT PETRINO.

That said, I have now realized that anyone who can recruit worth a lick will have equal success as Miles.

If that person can recruit and develop one ounce of our talent, he will be more successful than Miles.

What about Mark Stoops?

He's young, seems to be innovative, and is doing great things at a school where football is usually an afterthought.

Sure, we'd win big at home, but what about road games?

If Harbaugh is available, he is a Michigan lock.

Realistically:
Patterson
Mullen
Gundy
M Stoops
Rich Rod
Utah coach (whittingham?)

First realistic, decent idea I've seen.

Names that I would be ready to call if I were AD:

Don't have Jim Harbaugh or John Gruden because that is NOT going to happen.

Jimbo Fisher-I would make him turn it down; Phenomenal recruiter and would be a perfect fit; spend many years in BR and was pretty popular with the fans; He already has a sweet gig, but he may want to join the SEC and be part of big boy football; Or he may just want to stay at a place where it will be easy to win the conference and make it to the playoff every year; 5% chance we would take the job if offered.

Jim L Mora- he is a good coach; hell, he is an NFL quality coach; he has lived in South Louisiana before so he knows the area; LSU is a promotion from UCLA; I think a greater than 50% chance he takes the job if offered; would be a solid hire that most of the fan base would be ok with.

Kirby Smart- this would be risky since he has never been a head coach; he is a good defensive mind and seems to be a good recruiter; 100% chance he takes the job.

The next 3 guys are pretty much the guys that the people who bitch about the 3 yards and a cloud of dust philosophy might want; I think all 3 would have a great offense, but the fans would grow tired of giving up 500 yards per game on defense over time.

Art Briles: 50% chance he would take job
Rich Rod: 90% chance he would take job; he has lived here before
Mike Gundy: 25% chance he would follow Miles again

So, I think we would get Rich Rod,Mora, or Smart. I would go after Mora.

That's the kind of man that the LSU administration needs to target. You proactively pursue Harbaugh. It would probably cost us 10 to 14 million (Miles buyout plus Harbaugh contract).
