DBT + St. Paul's Broken Bones OR Sturgill Simpson ... Atlanta this Friday night

That's my choice. I haven't seen any of them.
So, do I do Drive By Truckers with St. Paul's Broken Bones opening or do I see Sturgill Simpson?
DBT is at the Tabernacle, which is a medium size venue.
SS is at Terminal West, which is a much cooler, smaller venue.
MB thoughts?

DBT w/ St. Paul by a long shot

Dbt are not good live and don't try to be. St. Paul is a Motown white boy revivalist band that aren't great live either.

Sturgill. DBT is just going through the motions and phoning it in at this point.

St. Paul shows are a lot more exciting than the guy trying to "save" modern country

to each their own. not all music has to be a party.

Pretty sure he's just a guy making music.

there's a time and a place for all types of music. between those choices of DBT and st paul, who i've seen live and they aren't that good and sturgill who I haven't seen live, but have watched tons of videos on, i'd rather go see sturgill. he's just on a different level than anyone else in his genre.

The shows I've enjoyed the most are the 'party' shows. So there's that.
I haven't seen either one.
Has anyone on the Board? Listening to his work, he could drift into wrist-slitting mode aka Lucinda Williams when playing live.
Thanks to all for the input. This thread definitely confirms my indecision.

honestly, I was bored at the DBT show i went to. st paul and the broken bones were ok. their frontman is eccentric. he's got some soul to him but overall, I didn't think it was that great.
