Got a question for the OB. Louisiana resident here, but about 100 acres of our property crosses over into texas.

Would a texas out of state license be necessary to hunt this property, event though it's technically 1 lease? I think I know the answer but hoping I'm wrong lol.

Yes, la laws apply to land in la, tx laws for land in Texas, good news is it might extend your season if the dates don't algin, bad news is out of state license

Private property? Hunt it and just stay within your lease, always leaving on the Louisiana side. If a deer that you shoot bails out of your lease, you are screwed. Although I would think legally that you would need a license for both states.

I thought it was where the address of the property was. I could be wrong though.

Idk the answer to OP's question, but this is what I think it should be imo.

So if you have favorable hunting laws in one state, you buy an acre in that state, address it there and gave 1,000 contiguous acres in another state and reap the benefits?

I'm not saying it's ideal, but it makes a hell of a lot more sense than having to buy two licenses to hunt the same property.

Fortunately and unfortunately, we don't own it. Been hunting there about 15 years now though so it feels like it. Much cheaper though.
