Great morning for me, my nephew and Al.

We only got 6 total but my nephew killed his first squirrel today. He was pumped!

We also found my paw paws old house that he grew up in back in the woods. Still in pretty good shape from the 30's and the fact that it has been vacant since about 1945.

Found these two things and I have no clue what they are. Anybody got a clue?

We also found an original miller lite can.

There is a ton of deer sign around these wild pears. I'm going to set up a pop and and try to get one with a pistol behind the house this year.

Here's Al, the great hunter

Thats awesome! Is that the first time you've seen the old house?

I haven't been back to that old house in probably 10 years. I walked back to check it out right after Katrina. Katrina took the back half off it when a big pine fell on it. Other than that it's still fine. Even has some furniture still in it.

That metal thing is a base for a hand crank water well. It's just missing the pump part. Good chance the well will still work.

I heard stories of the old well, so that's exactly what that is.

What about the thing with the timer? It's maybe the size of a small chest freezer.

I have hunted with a Remington 870 Express all my life. My cousin has one, I didn't believe him what the difference was until I shot his SBE I and SBE II. I had to get me one! Awesome Gun!

My grandfathers childhood home looks exactly like that, and way back in the woods. It's just a matter of time before it falls all the way down. My uncle is pretty good with woodworking and such, and last Christmas he went back and took some of the wood from the house and built everybody picture frames and panels with coat hooks on them and such. It's a cool way to take a piece of that place with you.

Its a matter of time for this one too. The floors are getting really bad.

I do plan to do something with the wood. It's all cypress siding from what it looks like.
