iPad 2 / ios 8 question...

OK so I have an iPad 2 and updated to ios 8 and now ios 8.0.2. I updated it right when I saw the update alert, like i typically always do, and was not aware that it harms the iPad2. And my iPad is in PERFECT condition.... not a scratch on it, never had an issue before, I take really good care of it.
Now, my iPad 2 is barely functional. Laggy, slow, choppy, safari and apps crash, etc. All the issues Ive read about are happning. And Im beyond pissed.
But my queston is this.... if I restore my iPad to is original factory settings, would it wipe out the ios 8, and would I be able to avoid downloading ios 8 on it? Or am I just shite out of luck?? Thats where Im at with it now... willing to completely wipe everything off of my iPad and start over because it barely works now.
Dont know too much about it, so any info would be appreciated. TIA.

So I just talked to my nerd buddy. Supposedly they are aware of the issues and are working on a new update. Hope so.

I made sure to wait with mine and see. Last big update apple did wasn't very good at launch either so I knew to wait.

Dude im beyongdfrustrated... And def pissed off some Apple employees with my phonecalls and emails with them. Its crap. They send me the update, I get the alert, and update it because I havent had an issue in the past with it. Update it, it freaking blows, and then they come out and say that you shouldnt update it with the iPad 2... WTF.
And safari just crashed while trying to type that message that took all of 20 seconds.

NO shite.... If I would have known it was going to be an issue i would not have updated it... but when the update came out, I got the alert on my iPad and said compatible with iPad 2, so I updated it the day it came out. And then after, you hear about the issues with the iPad 2... Do you think that I just updated it after hearing about the issues with the iPad 2? Yea... thats what I did. I knew it would make my iPad suck and still did it anyways....

Wiping the phone and restoring isn't going to revert you out of 8.0.2. If you did an OTA update, you can only roll back if you google a copy of a previous iOS and then work some tricks with iTunes to restore it to that iteration. It's not hopeless, but you have to be patient if you're going to try to revert.
