Not sure how many of you venture to the OT, but in late July and early August, I had a thread about the passing of my grandfather.

Well, he passed down two rifles, a shotgun, and a .22 revolver made by High Standard. The model name is "The Marshall". 5' barrel, 9 shots, and a squared butt. Anyone had any experience with these handguns, and is there a consensus on its quality?

Thanks all!

Those were considered to be very good revolvers.

I have the High Standard Double Nine Longhorn .22LR / 9 Shot revolver and have had it for 25 years, my dad had it before him for 30 years. Awesome gun and fun to shoot.

I had two nickel plated ones when I was younger. They are cool little guns. Not worth a whole lot. Depending on condition but around $300

I have a High Standard Sentinal, 9 shot. It may be similar to that model. It is functionally very good.

After researching it a bit, the models you guys mentioned are of the same manufacturing series, but were basically "promotional" in nature. The original HS double-9 was the first obviously, and then came the series of these (including The Marshall, Hombre, Longhorn, etc.).

SA/DA revolvers, and The Marshall was manufactured in the years 1971-1973.

I will post a pic in the OP as soon as the email sends from my phone.
