What size ice chest do I need to hold 50lbs of shrimp?

I have a buddy coming to the coast with me and he wants to bring back shrimp for his entire neighborhood. He wants to bring a 120 Qt Yeti. I don't have the strength or the space in my SUV for such a ridiculous cooler. If I can fit in a 65 qt Yeti, I will do it.

There was a discussion recently, 1 qt to the lb was the consensus...

How do you feel about assault rifles and stand your ground laws?

Your 65 should be fine dawg. Of course he has to clean it.

Straight dump with no ice you can fit 50lbs in a 48 quart BARELY!
A 65 qt ice chest will hold 50lbs easily with plenty ice.
Layer of ice, shrimp, layer of ice, shrimp, layer of ice......

Sums up my thoughts on the yeti 120 perfectly.
65 should have ample space. Don't forget to pre-cool it.

I was buying from the dock over the summer for $4-$4.50/lb for 16/20's. Most I've ever paid.....just a couple years ago I was getting them for $2-3/lb.

A few years ago they were at record lows also.
