I talked tonight to a longtime friend who covers LSU for a newspaper in Louisiana. Here's what he said: "For the first time I can remember, LSU doesn't have a chance in hell of winning this game. I don't think it will be close."

If you had to guess, who said it.

My money is on GG.

I am guessing that Kent Lowe included this in his bowling column. Am I right? What do I win?

I hate Guilbeau so much. I wish LSU would just ban the dude from everything

You don't understand how the media credentialing process works apparently.

On what grounds would LSU ban him? Do explain.

They couldn't just not credential him? It's not charity...

A school or team can't just "not credential" someone because they don't like the way he covers the team. Nothing good would come of it and there would be a lot of bad publicity.

He didn't say it was realistic, but a guy can dream.

How would that be any different from what GG calls writing?

Yes they can. FIU did to the local newspaper for the same reason.

And looked like a bunch of idiots when they did it.

Google it and read about the criticism they took.

Apparently FIU had issues with the reporter contacting athletes without consent of the Sports Info office. They relented and credentialed the reporter anyway.

LSU didn't turn into the Richmond Spiders overnight. Jesus.
