A former TD Bank executive who used a company credit card to buy $240,000 in Champagne and lap dances at strip clubs to ease his stress from work has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.
Jeffrey Burnham, 42, of Arundle, Maine, had pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Portland to a felony charge of theft by a bank officer.
He used the credit card to buy $1,000 bottles of Champagne and $750 lap dances.

How could somebody with the business acumen and the discipline to reach an executive position over a 20-year career be so dumb as to piss it away on such fleeting nonsense? 20 hours of fun?

The old sense of entitlement comes into play for most execs.

$750 only gets you a lap dance? The prude that's charging that much should go to prison also.

Posted on 10/2/14 at 7:41 am to Scruffy

Apparently so... I mean, I've blown company monies in the strip club before, but 240K does seem excessive and worthy of some punishment.
