Samsung keeps making fun of Apple’s iPhone 6 Plus “Bendgate” problem, but the company might have issues of its own with the new Galaxy Note 4. The device might not bend, but buyers in South Korea have already noticed a manufacturing issue affecting some of the first Galaxy Note 4 units: Apparently, there’s a gap where there shouldn’t be.

According to South Korean publication IT Today, some Galaxy Note 4 users have noticed a space between the phone’s frame and the display panel, both on the top/bottom or on the sides, posting images with business cards inserted in those gaps. The report also says that two pieces of A4 paper fit inside the gaps.

They should use that as a self feeding card scanner!

That's not a manufacturing issue. That's a design feature. If the phone starts to bend cause you grip it too tightly the Touch Screen is designed to pop out of place instead of breaking. As long as you catch it before it hits the ground you're good to go.

Just take it in to the nearest Samsung store and the fido eater behind the counter will replace for a "nominal " charge...

So two questions:

1. Is this really a big deal?
2. Did Samsung actually explain the purpose for this beyond saying "it was designed that way"?

They must have been too busy making commercials and ads to pay attention.

So is this all of their phones or just some that made it through QA?

It's probably more payback than anything else. Samsung loves making fun of anyone else for any issue, people are just paying them back for it.

Its certainly not as embarrassing as say claiming that your phone bends by design.

I doubt any of them have this issue in the States. The only ones to have this issue are a few in a third world country.

If they frick up the Note they're in serious trouble because we all know G3, M8, Nexus, 1+1 >>> S5.

Oh I see, people can go Ape shite on here posting multi page threads all kinda jokes and memes about Bendgate cause it's Apple, but a week later the very same company publicly poking fun at Apple has a major gaff and cracking about it is verboten.

Wait...South Korea is a third world country now?

I don't know if this is a big deal or not, but if it's a design flaw then it might be embarrassing for Samsung given that South Korea is a big market and happens to be the market they're HQ'd in.

So you're goal here is to be an equally shitty poster as the people on the other side of your imaginary war?

It's also the country that has embraced the phablet the most.

Either way, this isn't a big deal. I don't think anybody has bought a Samsung phone for its build quality.
